FWICE is the pioneer of the Film Trade Union Movement in India. FWICE being a non-political organization, with no discrimination on the basis of religion, cast, community or gender, is the mother body of 32 Crafts' Associations, dedicated to the cause of cine employees, fostering brotherhood and promoting and safeguarding the economic and cultural interests of its members.

One of the other main objectives is to take care of the interests, rights and privileges of Cine & TV employees in all matters relating to their employment and living conditions, and also to negotiate with State and / or Central Government for the enactment of suitable legislation's with a view to provide for adequate safeguards of the interests of the entire film fraternity.
